At the 2018 AGM a revised Constitution was conditionally adopted by the meeting on the understanding that it be reviewed & agreed by the Club’s lawyer.  This review has been carried out and I can confirm the Club lawyer did not raise any concern that the amended clauses would deem the revised Constitution unsound.

He did make some suggestions where we could add clarity to both the amended and un-amended clauses. The Committee has taken these suggestions onboard and are going to propose a revised Constitution to the membership at a General Meeting on Thursday 21st March, ahead of it being voted on at a subsequent meeting.

We would herein intimate that the proposed subsequent meeting, at which we would like this amended Constitution to be deliberated & voted upon is the 2019 AGM on Thursday 28th March.

Copies of this amended document will be posted on the main noticeboard and on the Club website in the coming weeks, for members to review ahead of the meetings.

The Club is holding Cocktail Tasting night on the Friday 22nd March. It will start at 7pm with a presentation and then we get to taste various cocktails.

The cost for a place is £12. A list has gone up on the club noticeboard so please stop in and put on your name and the number of places you want.

If you do put your name on the list it needs to be a firm commitment, as the charge to the Club based on the numbers attending. This is because the provider buys in the bottles to match the numbers and has to therefore recover his costs.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there on the 22nd.

The AGM will be held at 8pm on Thursday 28th March.

To anyone who keeps fuel or an outboard in the Engine Shed.

We discovered during the beach and shed tidy yesterday, that the lock was faulty. As we need to maintain access a locksmith was called out to sort it. He opened the shed but could not repair the lock (wear & tear led to tumblers working loose), so had to change the lock in order to secure the shed. He handed us the two new original keys and will return in next few days to fit a second lock with the same keys and more copies of the key.

If you need access to your engine or fuel in the coming week please contact myself of Ewen Chisholm. Following that we should have keys available for those that need them.

New locks have been fitted, both working off the same key.

If you have keys for the shed please return them to the bar and you will be issued with a new one free of charge.

If you don’t currently have keys but would like to make use of the shed, then there is a fee of £12/annum per engine for storage and a key will cost you £4.

We are gathering at the club for 10am tomorrow to tidy the foreshore and boat sheds, as well as the back garden. If you can lend a hand for whatever length of time that would be great.

Scotland v Ireland 6 Nations game will be on the BIG SCREEN at 2:15pm as well. So can toil in the morning, then relax with a drink and cheer on your team in the afternoon.

As well as the new boathouse that Ogilvie Homes have given us and what may be a wider panoramic view that we will ultimately have from the balcony, they have sent over the photos below that were taken of their development by a drone. The Club nestles nicely in the corner of the Esplanade.
