Ardentinny/Carrick Kayak Trip

The Club ran its first weekend trip of the season last weekend. Leaving from the Club first thing on Saturday morning were nine paddlers and two joining us later in the day. Our objective was to camp at the outdoor centre at Ardentinny with a couple of stops en route. The weather was kind to us for packing the boats and most of the day.

Our first stop for coffee was the beach at Blairmore before carrying on up to Ardentinny for lunch. Eight of us paddled up to Carrick Castle after lunch then returned to Ardentinny to set up camp, have our evening meal and collect some wood for a fire on the beach.

The rain and midges were now out to dampen our spirits but a good fire and a few refreshments and both were soon forgotten about.

The following day we paddled down to Kilcreggan for a most welcoming bowl of soup and hot coffee/tea before our final stage across the river to the Club. A great weekend was had by all and well done to the novice paddlers for surviving your first real trip.
