The birthday of the Sessions was marked on the 25th July with a cake and, at the end of the night, by a rendition of the club “anthem”, The Mingulay Boat Song.
Barbara was asked to blow out the candle on her last night looking after the Boat Club Session. She leaves us shortly to move to the other side of the world. She will be a great loss to the Session and the Club.
George Carson, Social Convener, said “It was great night with 18 musicians and singers as well as a good number of people coming along to listen.”
The running of the nights has, for the most part, been down to George & Cheryl. Their continued efforts, with friends and members who support them, has proven to be a great success. Long may it continue.
