Preparations underway for competition during Coastal Rowing Season

Royal West crews are starting to form for the racing season about to start within the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association clubs.

The first event the club plans to attend is the St. Ayles RC regatta in Anstruther on 28th-29th May, entries need to be in by Sunday 15th May, please contact myself.

Events following that are Port Seton & Cockenzie on 11th-12th June, then the Dalriada Festival Regatta in Antrim on 18th June. Anyone wishing to attend should have a look at the appropriate club websites and get in touch with myself.

Our own club regatta is on the same weekend as the Tall Ships Event, 9th-10th July. It is our intention to run a “Jollyboat” style race programme on the Saturday, regatta disco on the Saturday evening and then a cruise up to and round the Tall Ships Event on the Sunday. Weather permitting we may take a trip to Kilcreggan for light refreshments and a game of football with the visiting clubs. The visiting clubs will be looking for camping space, we have some space in the garden at the club but would welcome any assistance providing additional space.
