RWSABC 1866 – 2019

Three years ago our club celebrated its 150th birthday.

Time has passed and club members have moved on in their lives but, if like me, you remember what a part Royal West played in your early life this message is appropriate.

So, what is the message?

Simply put, it’s to appeal to you to contribute to the funding required to celebrate the history of the club in a tangible way, by commissioning & installing a bespoke stained glass panel internally across one of the windows in the bar area of the club.

One of the Club’s sub-groups has been working on this idea for some months and local man, Alec Galloway, a well-respected worker in stained glass, has been commissioned to design and construct the window. Alec is one of the pre-eminent workers in stained glass in Scotland and has enthusiastically taken up this project. It is well worth checking his web-site to see the quality and range of his work. http://www.alecgalloway.net/2about.html

Having seen the early sketches I can report that the window will greatly enhance the bar area and remind us of the heritage of Royal West.

The sum we have to raise is £3,500 and your contribution to this would be greatly appreciated

If you donate £50 or more you will get an invitation to the formal ceremony to unveil the window. A donation of £100 or more will see your name inscribed on a board adjacent to the window.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you’ll positively respond to this appeal.

Best wishes

Hugh Kerr
