  1. AOCB Q. I have been unable to attend Tuesday night talks due to work commitments will this prevent me from using club kayaking equipment this summer?

    • Liz,

Attendance at the talks over the last few weeks is not a requirement to be involved in kayaking during the summer months. However, unsupervised use of any Club boats and equipment has always required the member to demonstrate themselves competent to the relevant sporting convenor.

Personally I have been rowing for 33years, fixed seat and sliding seat boats. I am a UKCC Level 2 Fixed Seat Rowing Coach. I have rowed round Bute, Arran, Jura and Mull, as well as numerous shorter trip inside and outside the Mull of Kintyre. I have raced in 6ft high swells on the Forth and surfed up Portobello beach in a 70 year old boat, but as I have little kayaking experience I would always look to be going out with the experienced kayakers at the Club (Paul, George, Ewan, Colin, Des, Allan, Willie, Christina, Frankie, etc.).

      Hope this answers your question.

Look forward to seeing you during the year.
