Allan Downie, RWSABC Vice President, has posted the following notice on the Club’s Facebook Page.
It’s with profound sadness that we note the passing of David Taylor, after a long battle with serious illness. Dave was a sporting member at Royal West since 1987 and a former Sailing Convenor. A keen cyclist and runner amongst many other things, he was a talented dinghy sailor, and for decades was “the man to beat” in our racing series.
He was also simply one of the nicest human beings you could ever hope to meet. Our thoughts go out to Allyson Taylor, his family and friends.
His funeral will be at 10am, Greenock Crematorium, on Monday 14th September, with refreshments at Royal West thereafter. Wishing you fair winds always, Dave.
