It is with the deepest regret that I intimate the death of one of our oldest members, George Carson Snr. He passed away peacefully last night, surrounded by his family.
A stalwart of the Saturday morning rowing crowd, he loved his time afloat but also the life of the Club off the water. You could normally find George Snr. in the bar on a Saturday afternoon with his boys, following an outing afloat or, if the weather was not right, to one of the towns coffee mornings or cafes. The Boat Club Sessions were also a great favourite of his. He will be dearly missed.
