Some pictures of cracking day on the water as an opener to the season, in glorious weather 38 people made the trip to Knockderry hotel, rowers took Whiteforeland and Zebra, Colin Campbell sculled the newly refurbished 16 and a good number of Kyackers along with a visiting crew from Firth of Clyde rowing club in their Skiff Saltire. Lunch at the hotel didn’t work out so a quick row around to Kilcregan for lunch in the sun. contrasting situation from the last two years where we haven’t made it off the beach due poor weather.
A big thank you to all the members who came down on Sunday for a beach tidy, everyone efforts were greatly appreciated, it had been the plan during the low tide to move some of the larger rocks from around the middle slip as it had become increasingly difficult to land at low water, among the rock we came across a tractor tyre and a car engine.. yes an an engine There’s now a 20ft clear section just to the right of the middle slip for landing at extreme low water, the larger obstacle which damaged the rescue boat prop last year has been removed this turned out to be a council bin from the esplanade.
More pictures as they come in..
