The Long races were from just off the public slipway at the marina North to the slipway at Castle Bay, where teams had to change crews for the second leg back to the public slipway at the marina. All crews got off to a good start in both races but Royal West maintained the pressure building a good lead at the changeover point. The fresh crews from Royal West then stretched the leads handed to them.

In the Strint event the race was from sailing marks about 400m off the shore back to the publlic slip again. By the time these races started a North Westerly wind had built up and sea conditions getting to the the start were less than comfortable. However it made for a very quick race with the wind and waves at our backs. In the first race the sea conditions plus some inexperience resulted in our third place finish. By the time of the second race these issues had been overcome and we returned to the winning form of the long races.

It was an easy regatta to get to, in comparison to any of the other events attended this year. Just 40 mins from the Club and no ferries. Look forward to thier event next year.

Our results for the season are as follows:
Attended 6no. regattas (Anstruther, Troon, Royal West, Tighnabruaich, Millport & Largs), Overall winners at 2no. (Troon & Largs)
Club members also helped out or attended as individuals the following regattas. Portsoy, Ullapool, Viking Festival in Argyll, North Berwick & Annan

Next rowing event is the Queensferry Regatta on Saturday 6th September, followed by the Forth Bridges Festival Flotilla on Sunday 7th September. On 20th September we will be taking part in the Exciseman’s Chase in Maidens, hoping to retain our title from last year.
