There are activities over the Coronation weekend at the Royal West. Come down and join in!

The coronation of King Charles III is on Saturday 6 May. To acknowledge this event and to celebrate our royal connection we have events planned over the weekend.

On Friday, 5 May there is a movie night and disco in the Club. This is a ticketed event and it is sold out. Note, members were initially told about this movie night and disco on 12 April.

On Saturday, 6 May rowers, kayakers and sailors will be having the ‘King’s Coronation Flotilla’. We’ll be meeting at the Club for 9:30am and we hope to get as many boats on the water as possible. Some of our rowing boats will be decorated with bunting and we’ll have flags flying. When the flotilla returns, we’ll have the Hall open for hot drinks and rolls.

The coronation will be showing live on the big screen in the Club starting at 11am. All Members and their guests are welcome. Free hot drinks will be available along with a light lunch until around 3pm. Members can have one free beer, glass of wine or soft drink to toast the new King from the time the Bar opens at 2pm until 8pm. The Bar will be open as normal until midnight on Saturday.

On Sunday, 7 May there is a social swim open to the public at 5:00pm for a 5:30 entry into the water. We are opening our changing rooms to participants. All swimmers, dippers and spectators can come up to the Club afterwards for a free hot drink.

On Sunday, 7 May the Bar will close at 8pm, the normal closing time for a Sunday.

The Committee hope that you can come along at some point over the Coronation weekend to meet old friends and make new ones.
