The Royal West travelled with 15 competitors to the Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club (FoCCRC) Regatta in Largs held on 8 October. The regatta had originally been scheduled to take place on 10 September but was postponed as a mark of respect for the passing of Queen Elizabeth.
The Regatta consisted of 5 adult races and 1 Junior Race. The Royal West participated on all adult events. Six rowing clubs participated in the event. Racing of the St. Ayles Skiff was on a course between Largs and Cumbrae. In addition to FOCCRC and RWSABC these were Royal Gourock, Ayr Renegade, Troon and Stranraer. Our best result of the day was a 2nd place finish in the Men’s Open Event. At the end of the racing Royal West placed joint 3rd with Stranraer. Troon were the overall winner.
Royal West wishes to express our gratitude to FOCCRC for running a great event!
