Trust everyone has recovered from the festivities and is looking forward to an exciting new year.
The Club was busy on Hogmanay with friends and families gathering to see in the New Year. A big thank you to all the performers and to Tom Kane for his wonderful fireworks display after the Bells.
The December 200 Club draw was also made during the evening and the results are as follows:
1st – Ian Brockett
2nd – Norman Campbell
3rd – Joe Heffernan
Drawn by Cheryl & Janice Carson also Shelagh Holt
We plan to take down the decorations and tree tonight, Friday, at 6pm. Anyone available can help.
As you may have heard on the news today there has been a tidal surge on the Clyde Estuary. None of the boats stored on the Club foreshore seem to have been adversely effected but it was high, see below.
The Beach Convener may be looking for some help in the next few weeks to dig a path onto the beach through our new sea defences, see below.
The dark area in the centre is the corner of the gabions at the corner of the dinghy park, the branch marks the edge of the concrete hard at the top of the beach ramp.
For anyone interested in how high it was in relation to the Esplanade wall see below. This was taken just short of Campbell Street.
Here is another at the East India Dock
