It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Honorary Life member, John Blair.
John was a member of the Boat Club since 1970. However, his sporting interests were in cricket, he was a member of Inverclyde Cricket Club and was their President from 1979 to 1997. A keen hill Walker he was also a member of Lyle Craig Walking Group.
John was a member of the Boy Scout Association for 70+ years in the 1st Gourock (Col Darroch’s Own) which is part of the 6th Renfrewshire. He held many senior positions within the scout movement and was awarded the Long Service Gold Medal and the Silver Acorn Medal.
He was for many years a volunteer driver for the Greenock Hospice and Beatson Hospital.
We would like to pass our sympathies to John’s wife Ann and their wider family.
